Ma Jabulile Lembede

I met Ma Jabulile one year at the annual Izulu Orphans Project Christmas party; the highlight of many a child’s year. Ma Jabulile had the most striking presence. She stood head and shoulders above many of the women there, and her stance was strong and confident. I caught her mid-praise, her hands clapping to the rhythm, her voice loud and clear. There was something so alive about her. From the brightness of her clothing, to the obvious joy at being part of such a celebration.
