Sphesihle Mnguni

Our paths crossed when Sphe joined our first Take Back Your Future programme, at I Learn to Live. Sphe had studied fashion design, but was struggling to find a job. She wanted to improve her computer skills and English literacy. Sphe is possibly the most vibrant person I know. Her smile is contagious, her dress sense completely unique. She’s a wild flower in a dry and dusty rural community. I took a photo of her standing outside the studio that she finally opened in Empageni town. I Learn to Live gave her a small grant for rent, and she did the rest.
